Sequoia Somatic Therapy
Somatic, trauma-informed therapy for people seeking deeper healing, embodiment, and connection.
In-person in Los Feliz | Virtual in California
Sometimes we understand our patterns intellectually, but still find ourselves living them.
At Sequoia Somatic Therapy, I believe therapy is a space to slow down and listen more deeply - to your emotions, your body, your relationships, your history, and the parts of you that may have learned long ago how to survive.
Together, we can move beyond simply understanding your story and begin creating a different relationship with yourself.

How I Can Help
-
Grounded in Somatic Experiencing™️, a research-backed approach to moving through PTSD and trauma, created by Dr. Peter Levine.
-
I utilize Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy when appropriate to help clients move through deeper trauma patterns and feelings of ‘stuckness.’ This includes consultation with a nurse practitioner, a preparation session, and an integration session.
-
I offer prepraration sessions, integration sessions, and general consultations regarding psychedelic medicine.
-
I have multiple years of experience working in addiction rehabilitation centers and have three years of my own personal recovery. Addiction and substance use is a cornerstone of my offerings and one of my greatest joys to work with!
-
Help with difficult, long-standing relationship patterns with partners, friends, or family.
I also provide assistance with domestic violence and IPV (intimate partner violence) of all kinds.
-
These include, but are not limited to:
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
- Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Meet Kay
Hi, I’m Kayla (Kay) Gosnell, LMFT. I bring a warm, human-centered (aka, kindness-forward) approach to working with teens, adults, couples, and families. I see each person as a complex individual with their own history, strengths, and ways of navigating the world, and believe that each individual should be honored for who they are.
I am also an advanced Somatic Experiencing student and use a mindful, body-based approach to help clients move through long-standing trauma patterns and find relief.
I am particularly attuned to those navigating PTSD/CPTSD, generational trauma, addiction, and depression.
Please reach out if you’d like to explore working together or learn more!
You don’t have to have it all figured out.
Reaching out can feel vulnerable. A little about yourself and what you’re looking for is plenty to begin. I’d love to hear from you and explore whether working together feels right.
After you send a message, I’ll respond within 24 hours to schedule a free 15-minute consultation.
